THE SITUATION
Even after thousands of government schools being opened across the country, many children in India do not attend school. Government schools do not charge any fees for their tuitions, and provide free food for their students. So WHY are there still children left over?.
DISTANCE OF TRAVEL.
Distance to the schools can be one reason some children do not attend school. Walking 5-10 kilometres every morning to reach school is often something that parents are not willing their children to commit to. Some children, despite the large distances, walk to school everyday, because going to school is their dream come true.
FAMILY PROBLEMS.
Some children might be facing huge familial issues that force them not to attend school, despite it being free of cost, and meals being provided everyday. There are still many families in India who think sending their children to school is a waste of time and effort, and going to school does not improve their future whatsoever. It is not possible to blame the parents either, who often work their hardest to provide for their family.
THERE ARE JUST TOO MANY CHILDREN.
India has a population of about 1.3 billion, making it the second most populated country in the world. Even if schools have been opened by the government and non profit organisations, there will still be some children left over who do not get a chance to go to school. There are too many children, and they are scattered over the entire country. Therefore, to reach all of the children, we need to keep opening schools in rural areas constantly..
THE PROBLEM IS BIG, AND THE STEPS ARE SMALL.
Project Roshni aims to send unprivileged children to school, who have yet to receive a decent education. As a non profit organisation, Roshni requires donations from the larger public. There are many children who need education, but there are limited resources available. Therefore, we ask you to donate to Roshni, so you can help educate as many young children as possible.
